Christmas Day Celebration – 18-12-2017

 

Primary Nite – 16-12-2017

ThePrimary Night is perhaps the most eagerly awaited programme at KPS Burmamines which was celebrated on the 16th December 2017 with great pomp and show. The gala eventwith the theme “The Incredible Colours of India”, an exhibit of rich culture and heritage of various states of India, was pulled off with great zest and fervour.The Chief Guest Mr. Subodh Kumar, Additional Collector of Law and Order, the Directors Dr. Shrikant Nair and Mr. Sharat Chandran, Dr. Rachana Nair, all Principals and Vice Principals of various schools were accorded a warm welcome in the traditional Jharkhand style. The Programme began with an invocation to the Almighty by offering prayer to Lord Ganesha and lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest and all the distinguished guests.

The much awaited event began with a presentation of “Incredible India”. The school Principal, Ms. Harwinder Kaur welcomed all the guests and presented the Annual Report. A welcome serenade of the importance of three colours of our National Tricolor was presented by the students of std. IV followed by an Ode to Mother India, My India, My Pride Vande Mataram. An introduction to the history of the land brought on the tiny tots from Nursery to UKG with fancy exhibitsofgreat leaders, men and women of the country. The rich and diversified culture and heritage of each state was portrayed in order to inculcate patriotism among the Primary students. The audience was taken through a complete journey starting from Kashmir, “Heaven on Earth” to Kerala “God’s own Country”. The programme culminated with patriotic endshowing Bharat Mata on a Rath driven by the gallant soldiers to wake up the spirit of Nationalism in each one present in the audience. The value-added programme enthralled the audience which received standing ovation from them. As all good things come to a close, so did our Primary Night with a word of gratitude expressed for each one present in the audience by our Vice Principal Barnali Chatterjee.

Global Handwashing Day – 28-10-2017

Kerala Public School, Burmamines celebrated Global Hand washing Day on 28th October 2017 to raise awareness about the benefits of hand washing with soap. The students of Primary school and the nearby slum children were included in the celebration. The event was held to foster and support a global and local culture of handwashing with soap. The Interact Club moderators demonstrated correct way of washing hands with soap to the students.The school management lend their support to promote good hygiene for health. Washing hands with soap and water especially at the critical times after using the toilet and before handling food helps to reduce the incidence of diarrhoeal disease and respiratory infections. Hand washing with soap is one of the most inexpensive ways to prevent diarrhoeal disease.

POLIO AWARENESS RALLY – 25-10-2017

Poliomyelitis (polio) is a highly infectious but preventable disease caused by poliovirus. Children under the age of five,those who have not been vaccinated, and immune compromised adults are at higher risk. Hence to spread the awareness of the dreaded disease, its effects on our nervous system and the preventive measures, the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur hosted A Polio Awareness Campaign in the Steel City on the 25th October 2017. KPS Burmamines along with other schools participated in the rally. The enthusiastic Interactors of KPS Burmamines participated in the rally and also performed Nukkad Natak in the slums of Parvati Ghat. The slum dwellers were educated about the effects and preventive measures of polio.The students were lauded for their performance by all participants.

 

Teacher’s Day Celebration – 5-09-2017

5th September 2017: The contribution of a teacher in students’ life is countless. A day in the Indian calendar, 5th September, birthday of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan,has been specially marked to commemorate this contribution.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated in Kerala Public School, Burmamines. As per the Indian culture, the programme commenced with lighting of ceremonial lamp and a floral tribute to the great seer. The students had been preparing for the day for weeks and organized a grand show to express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers. The students brought handmade cards and flowers as a token of love for them. The teachers were given cash awards and appreciation letters for their special contribution namely the Teacher of the Year Award”, “ Best Class Teacher Award”, “Best Initiator”, “ Best Process Owner”, etc. Apart from this cash awards and appreciation letters were also given for extra work and contribution for bringing laurels to the school.

Independence Day – 15-8-2017

15th August’17 –Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at Kerala School, Burmamines.The ceremony started at 8:30 am in the school ground.
Mr. Pramod Kumar Sinha was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The Chief Guest and the Director of the School Dr. Shrikhant Nair were escorted by Principal, Ms HarwinderKaur and theVice Principal Ms BarnaliChatterjee.
The Chief Guest was introduced to the gathering by Shweta Jha. He hoisted the tricolor followed by National Anthem sung in unison by the gathering consisting of students and teachers.
The Choir group sang a Patriotic song that awakened the spirit of patriotism in everyone’s heart. The students of senior school performed a dance to patriotic number.The Chief Guest of the function, Mr.Pramod Kumar Sinha, expressed his happiness to notice that today’s generation think about freedom and patriotism which is the need of the hour amidst terrorism and corruption. The true freedom means when we make our country corruption free.”
The Programme concluded with the Vote of thanks.
Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day of love and respect for the motherland and makes it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

Oath Taking Ceremony – 06-7-2017

6thJuly, 2017: The Oath Taking Ceremony was held at KPS Burmamines on 6th July. This ceremony is held to inculcate the leadership qualities in students .The event began at 8 am. Mrs.Alka Sinha, Principal of KPS Mango and Mrs.Rajni Sharma, Vice Principal of NML, KPS attended the function. Shweta Jha, the new School President took the oath on behalf of the cabinet. The Principal pinned the badge to the cabinet members . Mrs Alka Sinha appreciated the efforts by the school for providing opportunities to the students. They also congratulated the newly appointed cabinets.
The activity incharge of our school Sweta Yadav proposed the Vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

Fruit Day Celebration – 30-6-2017

With an objective to create and educate children about the importance and consumption of fruits in regular diet, the youngsters from class Nursery, Lkg and Ukg celebrated Fruits Day on 30th June,2017. Teachers had made interesting and simple stories on encouraging children to have fruits in their meals. The teachers also explained the importance of fruits and intake of it in diet leads to mental and physical growth. The tiny tots also learned more about the taste, smell, colour and texture of each fruit. Children clearly understood the importance of washing the fruits before eating and the benefits of eating fresh fruits. Children and teachers sang the fruit and vegetable rhyme with great zest, enthusiasm and vigour, enjoying the moments of joy and happiness on this special day. The children were found to be quite thrilled and were positive on the fact that fruits are better than junk food.

 

Prize Nite – 17-6-2017

17th June, 2017-It was a memorable event for recognizing the academic brilliance of the students. The prize distribution in our school was held on 17th June, 2017 in the school auditorium .The Director of School, Mr Shrikant Nair was invited to preside over the function. He was warmly received by the principal and other members of the staff at the gate. The school had played the welcome song. The Scouts was given guard of honour. He was accompanied to the auditorium by the principal and members of the school committee.

The function commenced with a song and lightening of the lamp. The principal presented the annual report about the progress, examination results and extra-curricular activities of the school. The Chief Guest, Principal and Vice – Principal gave away the prizes. After that the Chief Guest delivered a short speech. He praised the school for its all-round progress and brought home to the student’s their duties and responsibilities.

The principal thanked the chief guest and the function came to an end amidst cheers.

 

International May Day – 1-5-2017

Globally known as ‘International May Day’, our school celebrated this day as Labour Day ‘. The school members had gathered to celebrate this day where all the sub staff of our school was honoured with a small token of love. Words of appreciation were said for them by a student and the best male and female sub staff were also recognized and awarded for their selfless service. The program ended with a vote of thanks.

 

Earth Day Celebration – 22-4-2017

Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 2017 in the school premises.
It was a great day to showcase environmental education, highlight efforts to green the school and engage the whole student community in making a difference.
Stage play explained to the students how earth can be saved from global warming. A rally was also organised. Speaking on the occasion Principal, Ms Harwinder Kaur said ‘The Earth Day celebration offers opportunities to both teach about the issue and make a tangible environmental impact. She said ‘Together we can save our Earth and each one of us in the school can make a difference’.

 

Fire Drill – 20-4-2017

National Fire Service Week was organized by Tata Steel Safety Department from 14th to 20th April,2017. Fire mock drill was done in our school on 18th April,17. Many schools participated in the fire mock drill . We were awarded the runners up trophy on the closing ceremony on 21st April,2017 at Steelenium Hall inside Tata steel at 4:00pm
Our safe club incharges Ms Suman Yadav and Mr Suman Sarkar along with Ms Sushma Sinha , teachers , students and staff members actively participated in the drill and performed a good job .
